Objective of the course

This "Print Appreciation Course" is designed to help people in the paper industry understand the interaction of print and paper which are inextricably linked. To get the best out of your paper knowledge you need to understand the demands different printing processes place on paper.

This one-day course is ideal for people fairly new into the paper industry and who need to know more about printing processes and paper related issues. It is a pre-requisite that candidates have knowledge of paper types and their applications. The course will cover all the common print processes, new technology, inks and finishing processes, as well as the most usual problems that can occur on press.

About The Paper Trail

The Paper Trail Project is a unique new industrial 'exploration' centre. Based at the two mills that pioneered paper's industrial revolution, the project brings together the past of an industry that helped shape the modern world, allows visitors to experience the present of commercial recycled papermaking and learn about the future of one of the world's few inherently sustainable industries - paper.
